“Klil Wexler confronts in her work the tensions between city and village, and between nature and the urban environment, addressing the transformation of Israel’s agricultural society and the unraveling of the myths associated with it. The fields of the moshav that dominated the landscapes of her childhood have been leased to external bodies, and the agricultural structures have been abandoned.
In a series of drawings and oil paintings on wood, she creates unsettling surreal hybrids between images of Shavuot harvest ceremonies in the moshav and urban landscapes.”
